Nearly twenty-five thousand homes in Queensland's southeast found themselves lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems impacted the area, bringing powerful gusts topping over 100 km/h.

Massive Ice Stones and Widespread Damage

Residents witnessed giant hailstones reaching sizes of seven centimeters in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that different parts across Queensland had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Damp conditions were forecast to persist along much of Queensland's east this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.

Tomorrow was expected to become the most rainy day, with continued storm activity predicted across multiple regions of both regions.

Medical authorities cautioned that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
